Let \(\Omega\) be the category of finite sets \(\underline n =\{1,\dots n\}\) and sujective maps. Let \(k\) be a field and \(A\) a commutative \(k\)-algebra not necessarily with unit. The author considers an analogue of the Loday functor (the functor \(L_A:\Omega \to k-Mod\) defined by: \(L_A(\underline n)=A^{\otimes n}\) and for a morphism \(f:\underline m\to \underline n\), \(L_A(h)(x_1\otimes\cdots \otimes x_m)=y_1\otimes\cdots \otimes y_n\), where \(y_j=\prod_{i\in h^{-1}(j)}x_i\)) and shows that if \(k\) is algebraically closed, \(A\) and \(B\) are finite dimensional algebras and the functors \(L_A\) and \(L_B\) are isomorphic, then the algebras \(A\) and \(B\) are isomorphic. A counterexample is given showing that if \(k\) is not algebraically closed the result does not hold.
