The Carathéodory topology describes the convergence of a sequence of pointed subdomains (with one distinguished point) of the complex plane \(\mathbb C\) treated as subsets of the sphere with the spherical metric. If the complement of a domain \(U\) has at least 3 points then \(U\) inherits the hyperbolic structure from its universal covering by the unit disk \(\mathbb D\) and we may talk about closed geodesics in \(U\). The paper concerns the relations between the Carathéodory topology, the Hausdorff metric and the closed geodesics, in particular the geodesics of minimal length.
