The authors consider the generalized inviscid Proudman-Johnson equation with periodic boundary conditions. In the case of either the initial data is smooth and mean-zero, or the first order derivatives or the second order derivatives of the initial data are piecewise constant functions, the blow-up of the periodic solutions is studied in detail for arbitrary values of a parameter \(\lambda\). Further, the pointwise behaviour and the \(L^p\)-regularity of periodic solutions are analysized when time tends to the finite \(L^\infty\) blow-up time. The key of the arguments is the derivation of representation formulae to the generalized inviscid Proudman-Johnson equation.
