Let \(A\) denote the class of all functions \(f\) which are analytic in the open unit disk \(U\) and normalized by \(f(0)= f'(0)- 1= 0\). For \(\alpha> 0\) denote by \(SH(\alpha)\) the class of all functions \(f\in A\) such that \[ \Biggl|{zf'(z)\over f(z)}- 2\alpha(\sqrt{2}- 1)\Biggr|< \sqrt{2}\text{\,Re}{zf'(z)\over f(z)}+ 2\alpha(\sqrt{2}-1). \] The class \(SH(\alpha)\) consists of starlike functions associated with some hyperbola and was studied by the reviewer and \textit{A. Wiśniowska} [Zest. Nauk. Politech. Rzesz., Mat. 147(19), 117--126 (1996; Zbl 0884.30015)]. The author of the paper under review considers the class \(SH^m_{\lambda\mu}(\alpha)\) of functions from \(A\) for which \(D^m_{\lambda\mu}f\) belongs to the class \(SH(\alpha)\). Here \(D^m_{\lambda\mu}f\) denotes the differential operator introduced by the author and \textit{H. Orhan} [Int. J. Math. Anal., Ruse 4, No. 1--4, 1--15 (2010; Zbl 1195.30031)]. It can be defined as \[ D^m_{\lambda\mu}f(z)= (f* g_{\lambda\mu})(z), \] where \[ g_{\lambda\mu}(z)= z+ \sum^\infty_{n=2} [1+ (\lambda\mu n+\lambda- \mu)(n-1)]^m,\quad z\in U. \] In the paper basic properties of functions from the class \(SH^m_{\lambda\mu}(\alpha)\), such as structural formula, coefficient bounds and the Fekete-Szegő problem, are investigated.
