The Korselt criterion says that a composite odd number \(n\) is a Carmichael number if and only if \(n\) is squarefree and \(p-1\) divides \(n-1\) for each prime divisor \(p\) of \(n\). This gives rise to define that a positive squarefree integer \(n\) is an \(\alpha \)-Korselt number (where \(\alpha \in \mathbb{Z}\setminus \{0\}\)) if \(n\neq \alpha\) and \(p - \alpha\) divides \(n -\alpha \) for each prime divisor \(p\) of \(n\). A positive squarefree integer which is both an \(\alpha \)-Korselt and a \((-\alpha)\)-Korselt number is referred to as an \(\alpha \)-Williams number. \textit{K. Bouallègue} et al. [Int. J. Number Theory 6, No. 2, 257--269 (2010; Zbl 1214.11013)] conjectured among others that for each \(\alpha\) there are only finitely many \(\alpha \)-Williams numbers with exactly \(k\) \((\geq 3)\) prime factors. The present authors prove that this conjecture holds for \(k=3\).
