Let \((M,F=\alpha +\beta)\) be a Randers space of dimension \(n\geq2\). A vector field \(V\) on \((M,F=\alpha +\beta)\) is called special projective if and only if there is a 1-form \(P=P_{i}(x)y^{i}\) which satisfies some regularity conditions [\textit{H. Akbar-Zadeh}, J. Math. Pures Appl., IX. Sér. 65, 47--79 (1986; Zbl 0582.53027)]. In this note, the author shows that at least one of the following statements hold: {\parindent=6mm \begin{itemize}\item[--] any special projective vector field on \((M,F=\alpha +\beta)\) is a conformal vector field of the Riemannian metric \(\alpha^{2}-\beta^{2}\); \item[--] \(F=\alpha +\beta\) is of isotropic \(S\)-curvature. \end{itemize}} By means of this, he obtains a projective Lichnérowicz-Obata type result for a closed Randers space.
