In [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 126, No. 1--3, 149--168 (1998; Zbl 0887.22001)] \textit{D. N. Dikranjan} and \textit{V. V. Uspenskij} introduced the notion of \(c\)-compact group and posed several open questions about such groups. This interesting paper contains answers to some of these questions. It is proved, for example, that \(c\)-compact groups need not be compact. A group \(G\) is hereditarily non-topologizable if for each subgroup \(H\) of \(G\) and each invariant subgroup \(N\) of \(H\), the quotient group \(H/N\) is non-topologizable (i.e. does not admit a non-discrete Hausdorff group topology). The authors have constructed first examples of infinite hereditarily non-topologizable groups. Answering a question of \textit{S. A. Morris} and \textit{V. N. Obraztsov} [Proceedings of a special year in geometric group theory, Canberra, Australia, July 14--19, 1996. Berlin: de Gruyter. 203--223 (1999; Zbl 0974.22001)] they prove the existence of topologizable Tarski Monsters of finite exponent.
