The algebraic theory of Colombeau's generalized numbers was pioneered in [\textit{J. Aragona} and \textit{S. O. Juriaans}, Commun. Algebra 29, No. 5, 2201--2230 (2001; Zbl 1007.46037)]. This work gave rise to a substantial number of further investigations into algebraic properties of generalized numbers. The paper under review continues this branch of research by analysing the ring of constants in Colombeau's full generalized numbers, focusing on topological and algebraic properties. Among the main results achieved here are a complete classification of the maximal ideals, an in-depth study of the group of units, the order structure on generalized real numbers and of prime ideals.
