A cryptogroup is a completely regular semigroup \(S\) on which Green's relation \(\mathcal H\) is a congruence. \(S\) is called overabelian if all subgroups of \(S\) are Abelian. A subgroup \(G\) of \(S\) is associate subgroup of \(S\) if for each \(a\in S\) there exists exactly one \(x\in G\) such that \(a=axa\). Structure of a general cryptogroup, a regular cryptogroup and a normal cryptogroup is described in terms of groups and functions (as a special case of the construction of arbitrary completely regular semigroups). Several necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of an associate subgroup of a cryptogroup are found. The following varieties are described: completely regular semigroups, cryptogroups, regular cryptogroups, normal cryptogroups, completely simple semigroups. In each case, the monoid, overabelian and overabelian monoid cases are characterized as well.
