Invariants of algebraic derivations and automorphisms in Banach algebras (Q2253018)

The aim of this paper is to generalize a recent result by \textit{A. Haïly} et al. [J. Algebra 347, No. 1, 214--223 (2011; Zbl 1254.47003)] for the case of inner derivations on complex semisimple Banach algebras. In particular, the authors prove that every semisimple real or complex Banach algebra which possesses an algebraic derivation whose invariants are algebraic must be finite-dimensional. Moreover, the authors prove that the analogous result for automorphisms is true as well.
