Realising the importance of environmental noise in the natural growth of populations in the real world, the authors investigate the effects of noise in population systems. Both telegraph and white noise are considered, and results pertaining to both persistence and extinction of a certain stochastic logistic system are presented. The results are illustrated by some specific examples.
