Let \(G_{N}\) be a symplectic group \(\mathrm{Sp}_{N}\), the unitary group \(\mathrm{U}(N,N)\), or a Hermitian orthogonal group \(\mathrm{O}^*(4N)\). The pullback formula states that the cuspidal part of the diagonal restriction \(G_N \times G_N\) of an Eisenstein series on \(G_{2N}\) is a linear combination of Hecke eigencusp forms \(f \times f\). The authors study the case where the Eisenstein series is holomorphic. From the \(F\)-rationality of the Fourier coefficients of the Eisenstein series on \(G_{2N}(F)\) due to [\textit{M. Harris}, Ann. Math. (2) 119, 59--94 (1984; Zbl 0589.10030)], they show that a suitable multiple of \(f\) has \(F\)-rational Fourier coefficients.
