    Given a vector space \(L\) over a field \(P\), denote by \(K\) the space of all bilinear skew-symmetric mappings from \(L\times L\) to \(L\). Definition 1. A vector space \(L\) over a field \(P\) is called an \(n\)-tuple Lie sheave whenever there exist \(n\) linearly independent elements \(s_i\), \(i = 1, \ldots, n\), of \(K\) such that all elements \(a, b, c\in L\) and mappings \(s_i, s_j\) satisfy \[ J(a, b, c, s_i, s_j) + J(a, b, c, s_j, s_i) = 0, \tag{1} \] where \(J(a, b, c, s_i, s_j) = (as_ib)s_jc + (bs_ic)s_ja + (cs_ia)s_jb\). Here \(xs_ky\) stands for the image of the pair \((x, y)\in L\times L\) under \(s_k\). This definition, but with the term \(n\)-tuple Lie algebra instead of \(n\)-tuple Lie sheave is used in the author's papers [Russ. Math. 54, No. 2, 28--32 (2010); translation from Izv. Vyssh. Uchebn. Zaved., Mat. 2010, No. 2, 33--38 (2010; Zbl 1247.17005), Sib. Math. J. 54, No. 3, 472--478 (2013); translation from Sib. Mat. Zh. 54, No. 3, 601--609 (2013; Zbl 1321.17005)]. Given \(s_i\) in \(K\), \(i = 1, \ldots, n\), define the mapping \(s = sum_{i=1}^n \alpha_is_i\), with \(\alpha_i\in P\), acting as \(asb =sum_{i=1}^n \alpha_i(as_ib)\). Denote by \(S\) the arising space that is the linear span of \(s_1, \ldots, s_n\). It is easy to see that, given \(s\) and \(\tilde s\) in \(S\), we have \(J(a, b, c, s, \tilde s)+J(a, b, c, \tilde s, s) = 0\) for \(a, b, c\in L\). Moreover, if the characteristic of the field \(P\) is distinct from 2 then identities (1) in Definition 1 are equivalent to \[ (asb)sc + (bse)sa + (csa)sb = 0,\quad a, b, c\in L, \tag{1'} \] where \(s\) runs over the entire space \(S\) of multiplications. This is the definition of Lie sheave of [\textit{I. L. Kantor} and \textit{D. B. Persits}, ``On closed sheaves of linear Poisson brackets,'' in: IX All-Union Geometric Conference, Shtiintsa, Kishinëv, 1988, p. 141] where the irreducible closed Lie sheaves were classified. In the paper under review simple Lie sheaves of dimension at most 4 are classified.
