The authors study in detail the class of minimal two-spheres with constant curvature in the complex Grassmannians \(G(k,n)\) by considering the geometry of \(\mathrm{SU}(2)\)-orbits in \(G(k,n)\). The method is based on the Cartan embedding \(\mathcal{C}:G(k,n)\to U(n)\), \(P\to P-P^\perp= 2P-I_n\). Let be given integers, \(0\leq j_0<\cdots< j_{k-1}\leq n\). The authors deduce immersions \(\varphi^n_{j_0\cdots j_{k-1}}\) from \(S^2\) into \(G(k,n+1)\) with constant curvature \[ k^n_{j_0\cdots j_{k-1}}= 4/\Biggl\{kn+ 2 \sum^{k-1}_{e=0} j_e\Biggl[(n- j_e)- \sum^{k-1}_{\rho=0} (n- j_e+ 1)\delta_{j_ej_\rho+1}\Biggr]\Biggr\}. \] Based on these immersions, they construct some minimal two-spheres in complex Grassmannians. The reducible case is also analyzed. Some examples are presented. The exposition is delicate.
