It is well known that if \(f\) belongs to the ball algebra \(A(B_n)\) then, given \(a\in B_n\) and \(f\in A(B_n)\), there are functions \(f_j\in A(B_n)\) such that \[ f(z)-f(a)=\sum_{j=1}^n (z_j-a_j) f_j(z). \] The author now discusses in how far this Gleason property can be generalized to the corresponding spaces in infinitely many variables.
