The eigenvalue problem generated by the Sturm-Liouvillle equation with degenerate boundary conditions is considered on the interval \((0, \pi)\). The existence of potentials \(q(x)\in L_{2}(0, \pi)\) such that the multiplicities of the eigenvalues \(\lambda_{n}\) and the imaginary parts of the numbers \(\sqrt{\lambda_{n}}\) monotonically tends to infinity as \(n\rightarrow \infty\) is proven.
