    Let \(X\) be a topological space and \(\mathcal P\) be a family of subsets of \(X\). The family \(\mathcal P\) is a \(p\)-\(k\)-network for \(X\) if for every compact \(K \subseteq X\) and \(y \in X\setminus K\) there is a finite \(\mathcal F \subseteq \mathcal P\) such that \[ x \in \left(\bigcup \mathcal F \right)^\circ \subseteq \bigcup \mathcal F \subseteq X\setminus \{y\}. \] A topological space \(X\) is called totally countably compact if every sequence of points from \(X\) contains a subsequence with compact closure. The authors prove that every Hausdorff, totally countably compact space with a point-countable \(p\)-\(k\)-network is compact metrizable. This implies the compact metrizability of sequentially compact spaces with point-countable \(k\)-networks.
