One of the main building blocks of non-Archimedean analysis is Hensel's lemma deriving the existence and location of a root of a polynomial with coefficients from \(\mathbb Z_p\) from certain congruences. The authors obtain results of this kind for a much wider class of functions, namely Lipschitz functions \(f:\;\mathbb Z_p\to \mathbb Z_p\). The proof is essentially constructive and provides an iterative procedure, an analog of Newton's method for this class of \(p\)-adic functions. The techniques proposed in the paper are based on the use of van der Put's basis of the space of \(p\)-adic continuous functions; for the latter see \textit{W. H. Schikhof} [Ultrametric calculus. An introduction to \(p\)-adic analysis. Cambridge Studies in Advanced Mathematics, 4. Cambridge etc.: Cambridge University Press. (1984; Zbl 0553.26006)].
