The author considers a compact periodic surface of revolution \(X = \mathbb S^1_x \times \mathbb S^1_\theta\) equipped with the metric \(ds^2 = dx^2 + A(x)^2 d\theta^2.\) In this context the classical flow is completely integrable. The quasimodes of the corresponding Laplace Beltrami operator can live on invariant tori but also on degenerate sets of higher codimension. The aim of the author is to understand how quasimodes are concentrated as invariant sets degenerate from tori into lower dimension. He introduces the notion of irreducible quasimode, which are those whose h-wavefront set live on the smallest invariant set in phase space. For these quasimodes he proves an estimate showing that they have \(L^2\) mass bounded below by \(C_\epsilon \lambda^{-1-\epsilon}\) for any \(\epsilon >0,\) on any open rotationnaly invariant neighborhood which meets the semiclassical wave front set. A better estimate is obtained in the analytic case.
