Let \(R\) be a prime ring with \(\text{char\,}R\neq 2\), right Utumi quotient ring \(U\), extended centroid \(C\), nonzero generalized derivation \(G\), and nonzero right ideal \(I\) so that \(s_4(I)I\neq 0\) for \(s_4\) the standard identity of degree four. For \(x,y\in R\) set \(xy-yx=[x,y]_1=[x,y]\) and for any positive integer \(n>1\) define \([x,y]_n=[[x,y]_{n-1},y]\). The main result in this paper shows that for a nonzero \(a\in R\) and integers \(n,k>0\), if \(a[G([x,y]^n),[x,y]^n]_k=0\) is an identity for \(I\) then \(aI=aG(I)=0\) or for all \(r\in R\), \(G(r)=cr\) and \((c-z)I=0\) for some \(c\in U\) and \(z\in C\). A consequence is that if \(a[G(u^n),u^n]_k=0\) for all \(u\in L\), a noncentral Lie ideal of \(R\), then as above \(G(r)=zr\), or else \(s_4\) is an identity for \(R\).
