Let \(\Gamma\) be a non-rectifiable curve on the complex plane \({\mathbb C}\), \(t\in\Gamma\), and \[ \displaystyle I_{p}(t, r):= \iint_{|z-t|<r}\delta^{-p}(z, \Gamma)dxdy, \] where \(\delta(z,\Gamma)\) stands for the distance between point \(z\) and set \(\Gamma\). The author introduces \({\mathfrak m}(t, \Gamma):= \sup\{p: \lim\limits_{r\to 0}I_{p}(t,r) <\infty\}\) and certain analogues, calls them Marcienkiewicz exponents, and studies their features. Then he applies these characteristics for solving the Riemann boundary value problem on non-rectifiable curves and shows that the obtained results sharpen the earlier known ones.
