This paper deals with the study of several qualitative phenomena concerning the solutions of the Swift-Hohenberg equation in the two-dimensional hyperbolic space (Poincaré disk). The authors are concerned with the bifurcation analysis of (i) spatially periodic solutions; (ii) radially localized solutions; and (iii) traveling waves for the Swift-Hohenberg equation with quadratic-cubic nonlinearity. The basic ideas which lie behind the approaches developed in this paper are related with the properties of periodic patterns, resp. localized states and radially symmetric patterns. The final section of this paper includes several open problems on this subject.
