Let \(X_{\Sigma}\) be a nonsingular (complex) \(n\)-dimensional toric variety, associated to a fan \(\Sigma\) and with corresponding algebraic torus \({\mathbb T}={\mathbb G}_m^n(\mathbb C)\). \textit{A. A. Klyachko}, [Math. USSR, Izv. 35, No. 2, 337--375 (1990; Zbl 0706.14010)] classifies vector bundles on toric varieties by means of an equivalence between the category of toric vector bundles on \(X_{\Sigma}\) and the category of vector spaces with certain decreasing \({\mathbb Z}\)-filtrations labeled by the set of primitive lattice vectors spanning one-dimensional cones of \(\Sigma\) which satisfy some conditions. The paper under review considers partial analogues of Klyachko's classification for the case of \({\mathbb T}\)-equivariant principal \(G\)-bundles on \(X_{\Sigma}\), where \(G\) is an abelian, closed, holomorphic (resp., algebraic) subgroup of the general linear group \(\mathrm{GL}_k({\mathbb C})\), for some integer \(k\). The main results give a one-to-one correspondence between the isomorphism classes of holomorphic (resp., algebraic) \({\mathbb T}\)-equivariant principal \(G\)-bundles on \(X_{\Sigma}\) with collections of holomorphic (resp., algebraic) group homomorphisms \(\rho_{\sigma}:{\mathbb T}_{\sigma}\rightarrow G\), labeled by maximal cones \(\sigma\in\Sigma\) which satisfy certain extension conditions. Here, \({\mathbb T}_{\sigma}\) is the stabilizer of any point in the \({\mathbb T}\)-orbit corresponding to \(\sigma\). In particular, when \(G\) is a discrete group, the authors prove that any holomorphic \({\mathbb T}\)-equivariant principal \(G\)-bundle on \(X_{\Sigma}\) is trivial, with trivial \({\mathbb T}\)-action. In general, when in addition \(X_{\Sigma}\) is complete, the authors prove that a holomorphic (resp., algebraic) \({\mathbb T}\)-equivariant principal \(G\)-bundle on \(X_{\Sigma}\) admits a reduction of structure group to the intersection of \(G\) with a maximal torus of \(\mathrm{GL}_k({\mathbb G})\).
