A KM-arc of type \(t\) in the Desarguesian projective plane is a point set with size \(q+t\) that meets each line in either \(0,2\), or \(t\) points. A point set is called a translation set with respect to a line if the group of elations with that line as axis fixing the point set acts transitively on the points of \(S\) not on the line. The authors give a different point of view of translation KM-arcs. From this perspective, they reconstruct projective triads, translation hyperovals as well as some recently constructed families translation arcs. They then construct a broad family of KM-arcs of type \(q/4\) which contains all translation KM-arcs of type \(q/4\).
