Let \(X\) be a smooth quasi-projective complex variety with Hilbert scheme \(X^{[n]}\) parametrizing length \(n\) closed subschemes of \(X\) and universal family \(Z_n \subset X \times X^{[n]}\). For a vector bundle \(F\) on \(X\), the \textit{tautological sheaf of \(F\)} is \(F^{[n]} = \pi_* ({\mathcal O}_{Z_n} \otimes p^*F)\), where \(\pi: Z_n \to X^{[n]}\) and \(p: Z_n \to X\) are the projections. In this paper, the author considers a vector bundle \(E\) of rank \(r\) on a smooth projective curve \(X\) and conjectures formulas for the generating functions of the integrals \(\int_{X^{[n]}} c(E^{[n]})\) and \(\int_{X^{[n]}} c(-E^{[n]})\), where \(c(E^{[n]})\) is the total Chern class of \(E^{[n]}\). He proves this conjectures for \(r=1\).
