For a fixed natural number \(n\geq 1\) let \(N=\{0,1,\dots,n\}.\) Suppose that \(\mathbf{x}_0,\dots,\mathbf{x}_n\in \mathbb{R}^n\) are such that the vectors \(\overrightarrow{\mathbf{x}_0\mathbf{x}_i},\,i=1,\dots,n\), are linearly independent. If \(K\) is a subset of \(N\) with \(k+1\) elements then the convex hull of the elements \(\{\mathbf{x}_i\,:\,i\in K\}\) is called a \(k\)-simplex and denoted by \(\Delta_K\) and its barycenter by \(\mathbf{b}_K.\) The \(n\)-simplex \(\Delta_n\) will simply be denoted by \(\Delta\) its barycenter by \(\mathbf{b}.\) The generalization of the classical Hermite-Hadamard inequality for simplices (see e.g. [\textit{M. Bessenyei}, Am. Math. Mon. 115, No. 4, 339--345 (2008; Zbl 1152.26017)]) states that if \(f:\Delta\to \mathbb{R}\) is convex, then \[ f(\mathbf{b})\leq \frac{1}{\text{Vol}(\Delta)}\int_\Delta f(\mathbf{x})d\mathbf{x}\leq\frac{f(\mathbf{x}_0)+\dots+f(\mathbf{x}_n)}{n+1}. \] The authors refine the right-hand side of this inequality, their refinement is based on the average values of a convex function over the faces of a simplex and over the values at their barycenters. One of the main results is the following. If \(f:\Delta\to \mathbb{R}\) is convex, then \[ \frac{1}{\text{Vol}(\Delta)}\int_\Delta f(\mathbf{x})d\mathbf{x}\leq\frac{1}{n+1}\sum\limits_{k=1}^{n+1}\frac{1}{\binom{n+1}{k}}\, \sum_{\overset{K\subset N} {\text{card}K=k}}f(\mathbf{b}_K) \]
