    A Finsler metric is said to be a Landsberg metric if its Landsberg curvature \(L\) vanishes or, equivalently, if the Berwald connection and the Chern connection coincide. A Finsler metric is said to be a generalized Landsberg metric if its Landsberg curvature \(L\) satisfies \(L^i_{\, jl| k}-L^i_{\, jk| l}+L^i_{\, sk}L^s_{\, jl}-L^i_{\, sl}L^s_{\, jk}=0\) or, equivalently, if the \(h\)-curvature of Berwald and Chern connections coincide (in the sense of Bajancu-Farran). The main results of the present paper are: \begin{itemize}\item[1)] Every compact generalized Landsberg manifold is a Landsberg manifold. \item[2)] Every complete generalized Landsberg manifold with relatively isotropic Landsberg curvature is a Landsberg manifold. \item[3)] Every generalized Landsberg manifold with vanishing Douglas curvature has the property that \(H=0\), where \(H\) is the horizontal covariant derivative along geodesics of the mean Berwald curvature.\end{itemize}
