Witten introduced an classical solution of the Euclidean Einstein equations representing an instanton that represents the growth of a ``bubble of nothing'' that expands, eating the whole space-time and includes the Lorentzian Hawking wormhole as a submanifold. This solution was widely studied in the context of quantum cosmology. This piece of work studies the propagation of waves on these space-times. It provides a spectral representation yielding exact solutions and studying their asymptotics and classical and quantum scattering.
