The authors concern with the global existence of classical solutions to the system of thermoelasticity with fading memory. This results generalize the second sound phenomenon by considering general strong positive kernels. By using the property of strong positive definite kernels and the special structure of the system (including convex entropy, for example), they show that there exists a global solution provided the initial data is sufficiently close to some given equilibrium constant state. In the paper, some technical energy methods are used, which may give some hints to other thermoelastic systems.
