The paper deals with the following question: given a Banach algebra \(A\) with left approximate identity \(\{e_\lambda\}_{\lambda\in\Lambda}\), a Banach space \(X\), a continuous representation \(\pi:A\to X\) of \(A\) on \(X\) and a nonempty subset \(S\) of \(X\) such that \(\lim_{\lambda}\pi(e_\lambda)(s)=s\) uniformly on \(S\), under which conditions can one find \(a\in A\) and maps \(x_n:S\to X\) for all \(n\in{\mathbb Z}^{+}\) such that \(s=\pi(a^n)x_n(s)\) for all \(n\in{\mathbb Z}^{+}\) and all \(s\in S\)? The authors provide several sufficient conditions under which such \(a\in A\) and maps \(x_n\) exist. Besides these results, several minor results, which are usually hidden in the proofs, are clearly stated and proved implicitly. Also, an example, based on the space \(C_0({\mathbb R})\) of all continuous real-variable maps vanishing at infinity, is thoroughly worked out in the last section.
