Let \(p\) be a prime, let \(P\) be a \(p\)-subgroup of a finite group \(G\), and let \(A\) be a \(G\)-algebra over a suitable complete discrete valuation ring \(\mathcal{O}\). The Brauer quotient, denoted by \(A(P)\), is a well-known and useful tool in representation theory. For \(A\) \(P\)-interior, an extended version of the Brauer quotient was introduced by \textit{L. Puig} and \textit{Y. Zhou} [Math. Z. 256, No. 3, 551--562 (2007; Zbl 1137.20002)] and denoted by \(\bar{N}^K_A (P)\) where \(K\) is a subgroup of \(\text{Aut}(P)\). Then, \(\bar{N}^K_A (P)\) can be viewed as a \(K\)-graded algebra with 1-component \(A(P)\). The authors of this paper give an alternative construction of \(\bar{N}^K_A (P)\) by making use of the induced algebra \(A \otimes_P \mathcal{O}[P \rtimes K]\). They also present a more general construction and investigate its behaviour under tensor products.
