To a real semi-algebraic surface germs \((V,0) \subset (\mathbb R^{3},0)\), one attaches its cone \(CV\), and its Nash cone \(\mathcal{N}V\) at the origin. In several theorems and examples, the authors explore the role played by the exceptional rays of the Nash cone in the bi-Lipschitz geometry of \(V\). This complements the study [Am. J. Math. 126, No. 5, 951--980 (2004; Zbl 1071.14058)] by the same authors.
