Denoting by \(G\) a type I, unimodular, second countable, locally compact group with its unitary dual \(\widehat{G}\), the paper under review contains an investigation of an operator calculus for which the symbols are operator fields on \(G\times \widehat{G}\). Besides the properties of the corresponding calculus, the authors explore its related formalism of Wigner transforms and Weyl operator systems. They also discuss some applications, e.g., to spectral theory.
