For \(0<p<1\), let \(B^p(D)\) be the space (called the Bergman space) of all analytic functions \(f\) in the unit disk \(D\) with \({\|f\|}_{B^p(D)}<\infty\), where the norm is defined by \[ {\|f\|}_{B^p(D)}:=\Bigl(\int_{D}|f(z)|^p\,\text{d}A(z)\Bigr)^{1/p}, \] and \(\text{d}A(z)=\tfrac{1}{\pi}r{\text{d}}r{\text{d}}\theta\), \(z=r\text{e}^{\text{i}\theta}\). In this paper, for \(f\in{B}^p(D)\), \(1\leq{p}<\infty\), the author proves that \(V_n(z):=2F_{2n}(z)-F_n(z)\), where \[ F_n(z):=\int_{-\pi}^{\pi}f(z\text{e}^{\text{i}t})K_n(t)\,{\text{d}}{t} \] with the Fejér-kernel \(K_n(t):=\tfrac{1}{2\pi{n}}\bigl(\tfrac{\sin(nt/2)}{\sin(t/2)}\bigr)^2\), is a complex polynomial of degree \(\leq2n-1\) satisfying the estimate \[ {\|V_n-f\|}_{B^p(D)}\leq\bigl(2^{(p-1)/p}(2^p+1)^{1/p}+1\bigr)E_n(f), \] where \(E_n(f):=\inf{\|f-P\|}_{B^p(D)}\) and the infimum is taken over all polynomials of degree \(\leq{n}\). A similar inequality is proved, where on the right hand side instead of \(E_n(f)\) a certain \(L^p\)-modulus of smoothness \(\omega(f)\) appears. Analogous results are obtained for the case \(0<p<1\).
