In the summer of 1925, Bohr and Heisenberg published results that closed the old quantum theory also known as atomic physics. The authors of the paper under the review resurrect Rutherford-Bohr model of atom from old quantum theory in order to depict the atom as a small, positively charged nucleus surrounded by electrons that travel in circular orbits around the nucleus similar to the structure of the solar system. In particular they consider the equations that model the dynamics of the two-electron atom which are quite similar to the models studied by researches who developed the theory of regularization in Celestial Mechanics. Using the Poincaré continuation method they obtain six families of periodic orbits from periodic symmetric orbits found in the atom under the assumption that the charge of the nucleus is infinity. The paper is not related to the work of Robert L. Devaney on nonregularizability of the anisotropic Kepler problem.
