The existence of periodic solutions for the second-order system (ELT) is studied. The Lagrangian of the system is the form $L(t,x,v)=G(v)+V(t,x)+<f(t),x>$, where $G$ is a differentiable G-function (in the sense of Trudinger) and $V$ satisfies suitable growth conditions. The variational method is applied using the mountain-pass theorem. Two main results are proved and two examples are given. The proofs are detailed and the paper is interesting and well written.
