Let \(\Lambda\) be a set and denote by \(X\) the classical Banach space \(l_\infty(\Lambda)\) or its dual space \(l_\infty(\Lambda)^{*}\). This paper presents some geometrical properties of \(B_X\), the unit ball of \(X\), that depend on the cardinality of \(\Lambda\). For example, the following results are proved. \begin{itemize} \item[1.] \(\Lambda\) is countable if and only if \textbf{1} is an exposed point of \(B_{l_\infty(\Lambda)}\), where \textbf{1} is the constant function on \(\Lambda\) taking the value \(1\). \item[2.] \(\Lambda\) is finite if and only if the \(\lambda\)-coordinate evaluation functionals \(\delta_{\lambda}\) are the only functionals taking the value \(1\) at a canonical element and vanishing at all other canonical elements. \item[3.] If \(\lambda\) is uncountable, then the face of \(B_{l_\infty(\Lambda)^{*}}\) consisting of norm \(1\) functionals attaining their norm at the constant function \textbf{1} has empty interior relative to the unit sphere of \(l_\infty(\Lambda)^{*}\). \end{itemize}
