    The authors prove some results about the spectrum of a bounded and closed linear relation on a Banach space. The main results are as follows. In Theorem 3.1, it is proved that given a bounded, closed linear relation \(T\) on a Banach space \(X\) and \(\lambda_0\) a spectral point of \(T\), then the following assertions are equivalent: \begin{itemize} \item[(i)] the analytic core of \(\lambda_0 I - T\) is closed and one has that \(X\) is the direct sum of the analytic core and the quasinilpotent part of \(\lambda_0 I - T\); \item[(ii)] \(\lambda_0\) is an isolated point of the spectrum of \(T\). \end{itemize} In Theorem 4.2, it is shown that given a bounded, closed linear relation \(T\) on a Banach spce \(X\) with a nonempty resolvent set and \(\lambda_0\) a spectral point such that \[\mathrm{asc}(\lambda_0 I - T) = \mathrm{des}(\lambda_0 I - T) = m < \infty.\] Then \(\lambda_0\) is an isolated spectral point of \(T\) if and only if \(\lambda_0\) is a pole of order \(m\) for the resolvent function of \(T\).
