    The article investigates a branched continued fraction (BCF) of the special form (BCF of not general case) \[ b_0+\mathop{{\mathbf{\raisebox{-.8ex}{\huge D}}}}_{k=1}^\infty \sum_{i_k=1}^{i_{k-1}} \cfrac{1}{b_{i(k)}}=b_0+\sum_{i_1=1}^N \cfrac{1}{b_{i(1)}+\sum\limits_{i_2=1}^{i_1}\cfrac{1}{b_{i(2)}+\sum\limits_{i_3=1}^{i_2}\cfrac{1}{b_{i(3)}+\genfrac{}{}{0pt}{0}{}{\ddots }}}} \] where \(b_0,b_{i(k)} \in \mathbb{C}\), \(i(k) \in \mathcal{I}=\{i(k)=(i_1,i_2,\dots,i_k): 1\leq i_k\leq i_{k-1}\leq \dots \leq i_1 \leq i_0=N \} \) and \(N \in \mathbb{N} \) is a fixed number. The article proves an analogue of the well-known Gragg-Warner theorem for continued fractions. Theorem. Let there exist constants \(\theta, \delta, \beta\) such that \(0 \theta \tfrac{\pi}{4}\), \(0\delta 1\), \(0\leq \beta \leq \tfrac{1}{2} \) and the elements of the BCF of the special form satisfy the conditions \[ |\arg b_0|\leq \theta, \; |\arg b_{i(k)}|\leq \theta,\; i(k) \in \mathcal{I}, \; \Re(b_0) \geq \delta, \; \Re(b_{i(n)}) \geq \delta,\; \] \[ \Re(b_{1[s]}) \geq \frac{\delta}{s^\beta},\; \Re(b_{i(n)1[s]}) \geq \frac{\delta}{s^\beta},\quad s\geq 1,\quad i(2) \in \mathcal{I}^{(2)}. \] Then the BCF converges and the following truncation error bound holds \[ |f_m-f_{Nn}| \frac{M_N}{\ln\big(1+\frac{\alpha}{1-\beta}\big((n+1)^{1-\beta}-1 \big) \big)},\quad m\geq Nn, \quad n \in \mathbb{N}, \] where \(M_N\) and \(\alpha\) are positive numbers that do not depend on \(n\) and \(m\), \[ M_N=\frac{2+\delta}{\delta\cos \theta} K_N, \quad K_1=1, \quad K_j=4AK_{j-1}+2, \quad 2\leq j\leq N, \] \[ A=\Big(1+\frac{1}{\delta^2}\Big)\Big(1+\frac{1}{\delta^4 \cos^2 2\theta+2\delta^2 \cos 2\theta }\Big). \] The proof of the main result of the article is based on previous papers of the author.
