Let \(p\) be a prime and let \(q\) be a power of \(p\). Then \(F=\mathbb{F}_q((t))\) is a local field of characteristic \(p\). Let \(\mathfrak{p}=t\mathbb{F}_q[[t]]\) be the maximal ideal of the ring of integers \(\mathbb{F}_q[[t]]\) of \(F\) and let \(G\) be a finite abelian \(p\)-group. This paper considers the problem of enumerating the Galois extensions \(E/F\) with Galois group isomorphic to \(G\) whose conductor divides \(\mathfrak{p}^n\) for some fixed \(n\ge1\). An exact formula is given for the number of such extensions, as well as a simpler asymptotic formula as \(n\rightarrow\infty\). The proofs are based on local class field theory.
