On the sharp stability of critical points of the Sobolev inequality (Q2180916)

The authors study a quantitative version of stability for the positive solutions to the critical elliptic equation \(\Delta u+u^{2^*-1}u=0\) in \(\mathbb R^n\) with respect to a manifold of sums of bubbles. The problem is answered in the affirmative in low dimensions \(3\leq n\leq 5\), whereas if \(n\geq 6\) it is shown that this cannot hold true. Other related results, mainly regarding spectral properties, are established.
