The paper is devoted to the following nonlinear Volterra integral equation: \[ u(s)=\int\limits_{0}^{s}G(s-t)\left(1-\sqrt{2u(t)}\right)dt, \quad u(0)=u'(0)=0, \; s>0, \] where \[ G(z)=\sqrt{\omega}(1-e^{-\frac{z}{\sqrt{\omega}}}). \] The above equation is used to model the dynamics of the capillary rise of a fluid inside a tubular column. The authors prove that the integral operator \(T:H_1[0,b]\to H_1[0,b], \; b>0, \) satisfies the assumptions of the Schauder's fixed point theorem. The existence of a solution for this integral equation in the Hölder space \(H_1[0,b]\) is established. Two numerical examples are given at the end of the paper.
