Recently, categorical invariants associated to a symplectic manifold have been introduced by Donaldson and Fukaya [see, for example, \textit{K. Fukaya}, \textit{Y.-G. Oh}, \textit{H. Ohta} and \textit{K. Ono}, Lagrangian intersection Floer theory. Anomaly and obstruction. Part II. AMS/IP Studies in Advanced Mathematics 46,2. Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society (AMS); Somerville, MA: International Press. xii, 397--805 (2009; Zbl 1181.53003); \textit{P. Seidel}, Fukaya categories and Picard-Lefschetz theory. Zürich Lectures in Advanced Mathematics. Zürich: European Mathematical Society (EMS) (2008; Zbl 1159.53001)]. In the paper under review, the authors associate to every symplectic manifold \((M,\omega)\) a category \(\text{Don}^\#(M)\), which is a slight enlargement of the usual Donaldson-Fukaya category. Its objects are certain sequences of Lagrangian correspondences and its morphisms are quilted Floer cohomology classes. Given two symplectic manifolds \(M_0\) and \(M_1\) and an admissible Lagrangian correspondence \(L_{01}\subset M^-_0\times M_1\), they construct a functor \(\Phi(L_{01}): \text{Don}^*(M_0)\to \text{Don}^*(M_1)\). The construction of the functor \(\Phi(L_{01})\) extends to a categorification 2-functor to the 2-categories \(\text{Floer}^\#\to\text{Cat}\). Finally, the authors mention about one of a consequence of their results. They claim that any functor from the bordism category to the symplectic category gives rise to a category valued topological field theory.
