In [Math. Proc. Camb. Philos. Soc. 151, No. 1, 95--102 (2011; Zbl 1220.13006)], \textit{B. Ulrich} and \textit{J. Validashti} introduced the notion of relative \(\varepsilon\)-multiplicity of graded algebras over a local ring as a limsup in order to detect integral dependence of modules. It is important to know if it can be realized as a limit. In this article, the author generalizes a result of \textit{S. D. Cutkosky} [J. Algebra 442, 260--298 (2015; Zbl 1408.13063)] to show that the relative \(\varepsilon\)-multiplicity of reduced standard graded algebras over an excellent local ring exists as a limit.
