An error-correcting code having trivial intersection with its dual code is named a linear complementary dual (LCD) code. The most studied cases are those where the duality is with respect to Euclidean or Hermitian inner products. Stabilizer quantum codes appear naturally from considering a symplectic form, which allows us to use Hermitian and Euclidean inner product to obtain quantum codes. One needs self-orthogonal codes for obtaining stabilizer quantum codes, but this condition can be avoided with the use of entanglement assisted quantum error-correcting codes (EAQECCs). The paper studies LCD codes with respect to the symplectic form and gives a procedure to obtain symplectic LCD and symplectic LCD MDS codes. Finally, the authors provide a class of binary LCD MDS codes and their associated EAQECCs with specific parameters.
