A cross-polytopal complex is a pure regular CW-complex whose maximal cell are combinatorially isomorphic to the cross-polytope. It is proven that any 3-colorable simplicial 3-polytope can be octahedralized, that is, subdivided to a 3-dimensional geometric cross-polytopal complex without creating new vertices on the boundary of the polytope.
