The study of invariants and symmetries of strongly pseudoconvex hypersurfaces plays a fundamental role in CR geometry. The purpose of this paper is to study infinitesimal symmetries of weakly pseudoconvex hypersurfaces with polynomial models in \(\mathbb{C}^N\), which is motivated by the Poincaré problem on local equivalence of real hypersurfaces in \(\mathbb{C}^N\). The authors establish a complete classification of weakly pseudoconvex hypersurfaces with special models given by sums of squares of polynomials. The structure of the Lie algebra of infinitesimal CR automorphisms of the model admits a much simpler weighted grading, which provides some clue to a complete solution of the Poincaré equivalence problem. As a corollary, a sharp \(2\)-jet determination result is given.
