Previous theoretical and computational results of the first author [SIAM J. Sci. Stat. Comput. 11, No.2, 242-262 (1990; Zbl 0701.65010)] on automatic selection of tension parameters for exponential splines are applied to provide approximate solutions of high order accuracy to nonlinear hyperbolic conservation laws.
