The search for string theories which allow a stable nonperturbative string vacuum has led many authors, in the past years, to take p-adic groundfields into consideration. The activity in proposing and formulating possible approaches to p-adic string models has become quite extensive and multifarious. One of the various approaches to p-adic string theory is due to \textit{A. Zabrodin} [Commun. Math. Phys. 123, 463- 483 (1989; Zbl 0676.22006)] and \textit{L. Chekhov}, \textit{A. Mironov} and \textit{A. Zabrodin} [ibid. 125, 675-711 (1989; Zbl 0685.22005)], where the correspondence between the according p-adic string amplitudes and the \(\sigma\)-model on the Bruhat-Tits tree is of fundamental significance. In the present article, this approach is carried on, in that the results of the second author [cf. Teor. Mat. Fiz. 43, 309-322 (1980) and ibid. 49, 156-163 (1981)] for abelian gauge fields on arbitrary lattices are used to describe the correlation functions and partition functions for the corresponding p-adic string surfaces of any genus g (i.e., for the open p-adic string world sheets). More precisely, the g-loop amplitudes of that particular p-adic string theory are determined by the geometry of the factorized tree \(T/\Gamma_ g\), where T is the Bruhat-Tits tree for the linear group \(GL(2,{\mathbb{Q}}_ p)\) and \(\Gamma_ g\subset PGL(2,{\mathbb{Q}}_ p)\) is a free discrete subgroup with g hyperbolic generators, the local string action on \(T/\Gamma_ g\) is given by fields taking their values in a compact abelian group G, and for the special groups \(G=U(1)\) and \(G=U(1)^{\times D}\) (the D-dimensional torus) the explicit calculation of the correlation functions and the partition functions is carried out in detail. The latter case corresponds to the p- adic bosonic field compactified on the D-dimensional torus, where the bosonization procedure is known, in the archimedean case, by the pioneering work of \textit{D. Friedan}, \textit{E. Martinec}, and \textit{S. H. Shenker} [Nucl. Phys., B 271, 93-165 (1986)].
