The aim of this note is to give the quasisymmetric classification of so- called geometrically finite one-dimensional maps. Assume that two smooth self-mappings of a one-dimensional manifold are topologically conjugate. It is a nontrivial and unsolved question whether or not the conjugacy is quasisymmetric. The author gives a positive answer in the case that the self-mappings both belong to the class of geometrically finite mappings. After recalling the definition and some properties of geometrically finite maps the author deals with distortion and nonlinearity of these maps. Then, before establishing the main result, he proves that the induced sequence of nested partitions of the manifold in question has bounded and nearby bounded geometry.
